Laced with humor, the interventionist feeding into media contexts and self-contained systems forms a key element in the artistic practice of Christian Jankowski. The transmission paths and the moments of disruption located there materialized in the exhibition Sender and Receiver at Fluentum. On display was a selection of new and previously rarely shown works. The exhibition is conceptually extended in the Sender and Receiver catalog. Particularly interesting: a work on the current corona pandemic. In it, the artist temporarily gives the so-called system-relevant workers a platform via selected TV formats to share their personal experiences and impressions with the public in a reality of life changed by the pandemic. In this way, idiosyncratic narratives are created that, for a brief moment, form a complex layer over the otherwise intact world of everyday television.
